Synopsis

While 15-year-old Pao is missing in a remote town in Gabon, the bodies of 5 unidentified children are found floating in a mangrove swamp. Oliwina, Pao's sister decides to return to this cursed city, a place she fled years ago, to find her brother. In this mysterious lagoon region bordering the ocean, the legend of Mami Wata, mermaid mother of the waters that everyone fears, is never very far away… and Oliwina is no stranger to it.
