Bio

Twana SHERIYA trained to be an international jurist. A cinema-lover, he learnt filmmaking at the Atelier Action workshop in Kinshasa. On a day-to-day basis, he is a copywriter in advertising, and won Best screenwriter in Advertising in the DRC at the « Bilili awards» in 2017. He directed a documentary called « OPEN SPACE» and a very short film, « A VIL PRIX, that was nominated at the 13th Mobile Film Festival, an online festival. In 2021, he started developing historical fiction « WALINZI» with his company SUBJECTIF BANTOO, with the help of producer Emmanuel LUPIA. Lupia worked on « VIVA RIVA» and produced « MAKI’LA», two of the most successful films from the DRC in the 2010s.
