Bio
After studying at the Beaux-Arts school in Dakar, Khadidiatou Sow started a career as a painter in 2002, which led her to be invited at the Casablanca and Dakar Biennales. Her artistic curiosity drove her towards cinema, and she studied at the Ateliers Varan – Documentary film workshops in Paris in 2007 where she directed her first short-films. Her career as a filmmaker is truly launched with « UNE PLACE DANS L’AVION » in 2017, produced by Cinekap (also behind « FÉLICITÉ » and « ATLANTIQUE », award-winners in Berlin and Cannes). The short film was selected in Clermont-Ferrand ISFF and at the Nuit en Or des Césars (France, 2018), and went on to win Best African Short Film at the AMAA Awards (Nigeria, 2017) as well as the Poulain d’Argent at the FESPACO (Burkina Faso, 2019). In 2020, Khadidiatou directed 15 episodes from TV series « C’EST LA VIE », broadcast on TV5 Monde Afrique, and the channel A+.
In 2021, « LES YEUX DE MABIL », her “danced” short film was acquired by France 2 and Canal +.
