Bio

Ousmane SAMASSÉKOU holds a Bachelor’s Degree in economics. He also has a Master’s Degree in Documentary Production from the Gaston Berger University, Saint-Louis-du-Senegal. His first feature documentary "LES HERITIERS DE LA COLLINE" (2015) focused on the lone Malian students’ syndicate, characterized by racketeering, corruption and electoral fraud with machetes and Kalashnikovs. The film received critical acclaim in Lussas, and also obtained the Grand Prize at the FIDADOC festival in Agadir (Morocco). In 2020, Ousmane SAMASSÉKOU shot "LES TÉMOINS DE L’OMBRE", a feature film that tackles the thorny issue of the migration of Africans to Europe, but from a more original angle, that of returning. He is also a producer for DS Production in Bamako.
