Bio
David CONSTANTIN is a Mauritian writer-director and producer. After studying at the National Audiovisual School (ENSAV, France), he created in 2001 Caméléon Production, which has since produced all his films as well as numerous short films by young Mauritian directors. David's films speak of the profound changes in our modern societies and their impact on human relations. In 2002, his first film ‘’Diego L’Interdite’’ received the European Grand Prix for First Films in Switzerland. In 2014, his first feature film, ‘’LONBRAZ KANN’’, was selected in more than thirty international festivals and received 6 awards including Best Screenplay at the Durban International Film Festival, Best Film at FCAT (Spain) and Le Papillon d'Argent in Cinémondes (France). David is actively engaged in the development of local cinematography with a unique Indo-Oceanic identity. He is the founder of the Association Porteurs d´Images and of the Ile Courts Festival, the Mauritius International Short Film Festival.
