Bio

Leila THIAM is a computer engineer and works as a tele-reporter for the national television of the Central African Republic. In 2017, she attended a training organized in Bangui by the Ateliers Varan in Paris, during which she directed "CHAMBRE N ° 1", her first creative documentary. The documentary was selected in 2018 at the Visions du Réel Documentary Festival in Nyon (Switzerland), at FIDADOC (Agadir, Morocco) and at the Vues du Réel Festival in Montreal. She got noticed by Boris LOJKINE who later made her assistant director on his feature film CAMILLE (Audience Award in Locarno). At the end of 2020, her feature film project “KOLI WALI”, produced by Elvis Sabin NGABINO (awarded at the Parisian festival Cinéma du Réel for the film MAKONGO), is invited to the ateliers de l’Atlas in Marrakech.
