Bio

Bouna C. FOFANA is a graduate in law and management from the Sorbonne (Paris), who eventually got trained in directing at CIFAP in Montreuil (France). He started working on the sets of the National Center for Cinematography of Mali and became a director in 2004. In 2010, he co-authored with 4 other directors (from France, China, Romania, Burkina Faso) the documentary “TRAVAILLEUSES” with the goup collectif Images en transit. He is the president of the Association of Young Directors and Screenwriters of UEMOA (AJRS-UEMOA), and also a point of reference in Mali for the "Ateliers du regard", initiated by the FEMIS film school in Paris. Since 2020, Bouna FOFANA has been in pre-production for the mining documentary feature “TERRE JAUNE” with Togolese filmmaker Sitou AYITE.
