Bio

Hachimiya was born in France in 1976. She only found out that her parents were from the Comoros Archipelago at age 21. She started off her career in cinema making a few small documentary portraits in the context of a videomaking workshop in Dunkirk. Later on, she trained in the directing department of the INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle et de la Diffusion) in Brussels, where she graduated in 2004. In 2008, she directed her first short film, entitled « LA RÉSIDENCE YLANG-YLANG », on the island of Grande Comore, which was the first Comorian film shot on 35 mm film.
