Bio

Pierre-Michel JEAN is a graduate in law and in communication. He lives and works in Port-au-Prince as a freelance photo-journalist and filmmaker. He is an active contributor to the social reporting magazine "Fotopaklè" of the "Koletif 2D" group, which he co-founded. His photography works have been exhibited in multiple group exhibitions in Europe and New York. In 2018, he received the Young Haitian Journalist award for his work on the rainbow campaign of the LGBTQI community. In 2016, he turned to documentary cinema and directed a short and a feature film. Since 2020 he has been shooting his second documentary "L’OUBLI TUE DEUX FOIS" (produced by Rachèle MAGLOIRE), in memory of the genocide of 1937 against Haitian immigrants, little known and still unrecognized by the Dominican Republic.
