Bio
Oumar Diack is a young Senegalese-French filmmaker. Fascinated by the performing arts and cinema for as long as he can remember, he trained from 2016 to 2018 at the Method Acting Center in Paris as a screenwriter and actor-director. His first short, "LES ROSES C'EST ROUGE" - a drama tracing the journey of a young man whose life choices don't seem to coincide with the rules imposed on him by his social group - won 4 awards at the Génération Court festival in Aubervilliers, including the Audience Award. His second film, "STELLA", is the story of a young soldier who returns to France after many years of service, and who will have difficulty in reconnecting with a civilian life that he no longer recognizes. At the same time, he wrote two plays and joined the KOURTRAJME film school created by director Ladj Ly (LES MISERABLES). There, he met Toumani Sangaré, one of the founders of the Kourtrajmé collective, and in the process, he co-directed the series "WARA" with him in 2020, with a second season in preparation in 2021.
