Bio
Fred FONTES is a French director and editor based in Vanuatu.
A professional videographer since 2005, he began by making films related to musical and artistic events in France.
His encounters in these circles led him to make various reports and documentaries on these topics.
He travelled for several months in Latin America and settled in Ecuador where he directed in 2018 the film "Metal y Cuenca", a documentary about the metal music community in the city of Cuenca (selected in 2019 for the International Documentary Film Festival of Quito, EDOC).
His last trip took him to Vanuatu in August 2018, where he discovered a country where his bags finally settled.
There he is making a documentary on basketball, following the national teams of this sport for several months.
In 2019, the idea of Stamba blo Fridom was born, a documentary series and a documentary film on the independence of Vanuatu that he co-directs with Marcel Melto.
