Bio
Amédée Pacôme Nkolou is a gabonese film maker graduated from a Bachelor in Technical Film Directing at the Institut Supérieur de l’Image et du Son (ISIS) in Ouagadougou, Burkina-Fasso. In 2011, he started his career as an assistant director on feature films. His first fictional short, MOANE MORY (2014), was selected in the official competition of FESPACO at the Short-film corner at the Cannes Film Festival.
BOXING-LIVREVILLE, his first documentary made its world premiere at Visions Du Réel (2018), and then was awarded the Best Documentary at the Festival du Cinéma Africain de Tarifa and the Jury Prize at FIDADOC, Morocco, the same year. He was invited to the Festival DOK.Fest in Munich to host a round table named : QUOI DE NEUF : JEUNES FILMS AFRICAINS FILMER about the future of african documentary genre.
Currently, his second short (LA COUR DU ROI) is in pre-production, he is working on the writing of his first feature (LES FRESQUES DES OUBLIÉES), winner of PRIX IDRISSA OUEDRAOGO at the OUAGAFILMLAB : a writing residency grant at the MOULIN D’ANDE, in partnership with the CNC.
